Dr. Satish Ranka is a Consultant Occupational Health Physician with extensive experience in complex case evaluations and workplace health. As Director of R-Health Ltd and Lead Selected Medical Practitioner (SMP), he plays a pivotal role in ensuring high clinical standards in ill health retirement assessments and injury award determinations across UK police forces.

In addition to his expertise in occupational medicine, Dr. Ranka is a Responsible Officer (RO), overseeing the appraisal and revalidation of doctors to ensure compliance with professional standards and regulatory requirements. His role as an RO reflects his commitment to upholding the highest clinical and ethical standards within occupational health practice.

Dr. Ranka has a wealth of experience in fitness-for-work assessments, long-term absence management, and disability evaluations under the Equality Act 2010. His meticulous and evidence-based approach has earned him recognition as a trusted SMP, ensuring fair and robust decision-making in accordance with police pension regulations.

He also serves as a portfolio assessor for the alternative pathway to specialist qualifications in Occupational Medicine and has authored national guidelines for colleague portfolio assessors on reviewing portfolio evidence. Additionally, he is an ARCP panelist for the Occupational Medicine trainee pathway review, supporting doctors in their progression toward specialist qualifications.
